Tu te hiciste famosillo por ganar un premio ex aequo con Vanesa Durán. Ella no es tan conocida com tu. Pero ella salió en el documental de sogecable “Explosión Anime”. En el mencionaba el premio que ganó, pero ni de coña hablaba de ti. ¿Cómo te ha sentado después de que tu siempre la recuerdas? ¿Ha robado parte de tu fama?
XDDDD ¿Pero tú que fumas? Esto me recuerda los programas tipo Aquí hay tomate y similares, en los que, como no hay "noticias" suficientes para llenar un programa diario, los entrevistadores van intentando picar a los personajillos del colorín entre ellos, para generar polémicas absurdas.
En fin, que yo a Vanessa le tengo mucho cariño. Al fin y al cabo, compartimos juntos la experiencia de tener nuestra primera sesión de firmas (en el stand de Camaleón), a la que casi no fue nadie... ¡y eso une mucho!

¿Cómo comenzaste?
Ganando el concurso del primer Saló del Manga, ejem, JUNTO CON VANESSA DURÁN, ejem, lo cual hizo que los de Camaleón (revista Neko) y los de Inu (revista Kame) se fijaran en mí y me pidieran cositas. Y trabajos, también.
¿Te trata tan bien Vicente que no dejas que te suelte?
Hombre... ahora mismo trabajo también para Norma y La Cúpula, así que un poco sí que me suelta, ¿no?
Cuéntame como recuerdas B3.
Lo recuerdo como una época buena, aunque mirando hacia atrás, flipo con lo que yo trabajaba, teniendo en cuenta los pobres sueldos que podía permitirse pagarnos Camaleón. La ilusión, es lo que tiene. Pero en conjunto tengo grandes recuerdos, de ver mis propios personajes protagonizar un cómic y de ver que, encima, a la gente le gustaba. Y también recuerdo agradablemente momentos con otros autores (como Ramón F. Bachs) o personas metidas en el mundillo (como Jaime Rodríguez u Óscar Valiente) que comenzaban por aquella época y nadie sabía dónde iban a llegar... :)
¿Habrá segunda parte de B3? ¿Verán la luz sus Spin-Off?
Me gustaría, pero a corto plazo no lo veo factible, este año voy a estar bastante ocupado ya, entre otras cosas con los dos últimos tomos que faltan de Japonés para gente Manga. Después... ya veremos, porque hay varios proyectos que me gustaría llevar a cabo. Pero sí, uno de ellos es realizar una segunda parte de B3, tan extensa como la primera. De hecho, parte del argumento y de los personajes nuevos que aparecerían, ya están pensados.
Me he fijado que en todas tus obras, dejas caer algunas ideas mucho mas profundas de lo que parecen a primera vista. Por ejemplo cuando Justo Smith le suelta un discurso sobre Cielo e Infierno a su hijo. ¿Es premeditado? ¿Lo que dejas entrever de veras es lo que piensas?
¿Uh? ¿Ideas profundas? ¿Lo cualo?
Puedes trabajar a tres niveles. Infantil, sexo explícito y voyametermecontodios. ¿En cual te sientes mas a gusto?
Depende del humor con el que me levante. Como no me sentiría nada a gusto es teniendo que trabajar sólo a uno de esos niveles todo el tiempo. De todas formas, las tiras de Japonés para gente Manga no son ni infantiles, ni de sexo explícito, ni de voyaganarmequerellas. Y B3 es picantón, pero no tanto como para englobarlo en la misma categoría que el Sexo Raro, ¿no?
¿Te has fijado que los tres protagonistas de B3 son una réplica exacta de tus tres niveles de trabajo?
Pues... no. Uh... el infantil, ¿¿cuál sería?? ¿Bueno Smith? ¿Y el de sexo explícito? Tanto Bonito Delacourt como Barato Takashima están obsesionados con mojar, la única diferencia es que uno lo logra y el otro no...
¿Quién te pone los grises?
Actualmente, yo mismo, aunque en b/n ya sólo publico en la Eros Comix. El resto de mis trabajos regulares son a color. ¡Ah, no! Las tiras del Japonés también son en b/n, ahora que lo pienso. Pero no llevan grises, están tramadas.
¿Y quien te pone de otra manera?
¡Ja, ja! Mira, ésta me ha hecho gracia. Pero paso de contestar, gracias...
¿Es cierto que vas a trabajar en algo con Shiuman, el creador del hombre tostada? Ya que según parece, corren los rumores de que eres uno de sus mayores fans...

1: Porque me aburría haciéndolo. Y porque como dibujante tengo mis limitaciones, lo que hacía que fuese frustrante imitar a gente como Ryoichi Ikegami, por ejemplo.

4: No lo odio, simplemente me parece el más soso de los cinco Caballeros. Y una buena fuente de chistes cuando no se me ocurría nada mejor, que solía ser a menudo, como cualquier lector de Humor Amarillo puede deducir.
